Most bookkeepers will tell you they're accurate and they meet deadlines. I'd hope so — that's the job, not the value.

After more than 20 years in accounts, payroll and ATO compliance, I've stopped seeing a set of books as a set of numbers. I see patterns. A supplier cost that's quietly crept up since last winter. A subscription that's still being paid for out of habit. A payroll setup that could be simpler than it is. To a busy owner it's one more line in a busy month. To me it stands out — and I'll pick up the phone and tell you about it.

That's usually the difference between a bookkeeper who processes what you send and one who's genuinely paying attention.

The reason

Why I Started Count On M3

For most of my career I did the books for other people's businesses, and I was good at it. But the role always stopped at the same place — get it right, get it lodged, move on.

I've never been able to leave it there. If I could see something in the numbers that might help the owner, I wanted to be able to ring them and say: have you had a look at this? There might be a better way to handle it.

Running my own business means I get to do exactly that, every day. Not just keeping the books, but telling a business owner what I'm seeing and how it could be working harder for them. Little by little, that adds up to a stronger business.

So you get on with what you do best, and leave the rest to me.

How it works

How I Work

I look after BAS and IAS lodgement, payroll, STP and super, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and monthly reporting — for trades, retail, hospitality and farms across Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley.

You'll deal with me. Not a call centre, not a different person each month. I'll learn how your business runs, and once I know what normal looks like for you, the things that aren't normal get a lot easier to spot.

And if something needs your accountant rather than your bookkeeper, I'll say so. Knowing where my lane ends is part of doing this properly.
